RCL FOODS is searching for a Research and Development Intern to join our Grocery Division on a 12-month FTC. The role will report to the senior new product development technologist and will be based in Randfontein. The incumbent will be responsible for providing support in ensuring product development projects are completed per specification, on time, of a high quality, and at target cost in collaboration with all relevant departments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior NPD Technologist to innovate new products from concept through to launch
• Provide support in matching and developing both new and existing products
• Schedule and conduct factory trials, and attend first production runs to ensure smooth execution
• Compile finished product specifications and update existing specifications as changes occur
• Source and approve new raw materials in line with the approval and management of change process

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric
• Currently pursuing a diploma in food science or a related qualification
• Require in-service training to complete the qualification
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent critical thinking skills
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Time management
